This will create more eating space without making the kitchen feel cramped.

You only need leather strands to secure your planters and keep them in place. A background that helps them stand out would also help.

I’ve been seeing colored glasses in every home I visit, from bud vases, drinking glasses, wine glasses, and decorative items, a rather popular trend.
But don’t feel left out because you have old clear jars in your home. You can tint your jars with Mod Podge and a food color gel of your choice.

This is one of my favorite DIY home decor projects.
If you have neutral walls, use a bold paint color to paint an arch, then add shelves to host mini planters. Your guests won’t get enough of this!
11. Cheap Window Seat Cushion
An old curtain panel can make an excellent window seat cushion addition.
Cut out a piece of foam and fabric using your bench’s measurements, then use the fabric to wrap the foam as you would a present, cutting off the excess fabric. That’s it!
12. Try Teak Wall Tiles
Your bathroom doesn’t need a complete overhaul for you to create a zen-inspired space. Consider adding teak panels to the shower walls, then add hooks to hang towels.
Take it a notch higher with a wooden bench and a potted plant.

First, wipe any dust and debris on the candlesticks with alcohol. Then, add cute designs (I adore floral ones) using acrylic paint or paint markers, decorating one side at a time to avoid smudging them.

Horizontal blinds are the norm in almost every home.
Stand out from the rest by using strips of colored fabric tape to impart a custom look on your blinds.

I gave my dresser an uplift with marble contact paper, and it’s one of the best 1 hour and $30 I’ve ever spent. Change the hardware, and you’ll have a completely new piece of furniture!

Use individual posts or anchored brackets to secure the rope from the top to the bottom of your staircase, unraveling both ends for a more relaxed look.

You only need to outfit your vases with these covers, which you can get for under $20, for a beach-inspired look.

38. Put Your Book Collection to Work
Create a chic side table with your old, dusty encyclopedias. For this DIY home decor project, use a box frame that fits nicely around one book and nail it on the tabletop’s underside. Glue a dowel to the center of the table’s underside, then drill holes in each book relative to the dowel size.
Transfix the dowel through the holes of the stacked encyclopedias to secure them to the tabletop, and complete the look by adding festive string lights.

There’s no better feeling than having to use something that you made with your own hands, and I can attest to this.
To make this side table, attach hairpin legs to a piece of laminated pine board.

Use one of our favorite shots on your camera roll to dress up a bare wall.
Digitally enlarge the shot before adding strips of wood along the bottom and top for your conventional frame.
41. Uplift Your Napkins
Dye your napkins, table runners, and placemats to create colorful ombre linens that bring bursts of color to your dining table. Simply run a cotton napkin under the tap, wring out the excess water, then lay it on a covered surface.
Brush on fabric paint while adding a few tablespoons of water at a time to dilute the paint. Hang the napkin and let it dry overnight before ironing it to set the paint. These colorful napkins can even double up as placemats!
42. Flip the Pages
This one is a lovely DIY home decor idea for the bookworms. Simply use pages of your favorite book to cover a nook for a touch of whimsy.

43. Hang a Laundry Bag
Keep your delicates in one area with a laundry bag made from an embroidery hoop, ribbon, and fabric. Clamp a pillowcase into the hoop, then use the hoop’s clamp to tie on a loop of ribbon.

44. Uplift Your Mirror
You can recreate this look for under $25, and although it looks complicated, it’s a surprisingly simple DIY home decor project.
You only need a 14-inch mirror ($8), 1 spool of jute twine ($5), and nails ($7).

For the previous shutter upcycling project, we advised you to paint your piece of furniture to make it stand out.

49. Make Your Own Placemats
Don’t spend too much time looking for the perfect option for your table placemats when you can craft your own with a fabric of your choice.
Cut fabric into 12-inch x 17-inch rectangles and iron the mats. Cut two similar rectangles for each mat from a vinyl sheet, ironing the pieces of vinyl on each side of the placemat. Use pinking shears to trim the edges for a chic look.
50. Paint Over Artwork
Am I the only one who has trouble understanding modern/contemporary art? Stay with the times and make your own contemporary art pieces by painting your art pieces halfway.
Use various coordinating colors to transform your garage sale art into a verdant color block display.

Solve the mystery of the “disappearing” remote with this no-sew pillow pocket. Begin by cutting a pocket from an unused pair of jeans.
Place fusible fleece between the pillow cover and the jean pocket before ironing the two layers together. Place the cover back on the pillow and snuggle up for a movie marathon night.
52. Create a Pom-Pom Trim
Give your existing lampshades, throw pillows, and curtains a fun makeover with fringe or pom-pom trim.

If you have a plain white wall, then you have a gem on your hands! With a bit of paint and a kitchen sponge, you can create a DIY wallpaper design that’s sure to impress.
Just dip the sponge’s straight edge into the paint, then using a level, group the lines that’ll be formed on the wall for a uniform look.
54. Mount an Easel
I usually get irritated (a bit, anyway) when I find my kids have shown their artistic prowess on my newly painted walls.
So, to curb this ‘creative’ menace, I placed an easel in an unoccupied corner and let them go crazy with their art; I couldn’t just let all that talent go to waste!
55. Cover Your Tissues
This modish tissue box will last beyond the cold season! Use polyurethane to coat your wooden tissue box cover three times, then cut four 2-inch wide strips of veneer for each side of the box.
Hot glue the strips on the box, coat them, as well as the tissue box, and let them dry.
56. Utilize a Ladder
You don’t need to buy a shoe rack when you have ladders at home! Simply use a wooden rod at the top for your rack and two wooden planks for the shoe platforms.
